Alleged drug peddler from Nagaland arrested in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi

Meghalaya’s Ri Bhoi police have apprehended an alleged drug peddler by the name Kaisikamo from Nagaland in the early hours of Saturday.

Meghalaya, India, March 9 (HBTV): Meghalaya’s Ri Bhoi police have apprehended an alleged drug peddler by the name Kaisikamo from Nagaland in the early hours of Saturday.            



The Anti Narcotics Task Force team of Ri Bhoi District and personnel from the Byrnihat Police Station carried out an operation following information suggesting Kaisikamo's involvement in trafficking contraband.                  



A raid was conducted at Kaisikamo's residence, resulted in the seizure of eight soap boxes containing a yellowish-orange powder, which upon testing was confirmed to be heroin.                   



The net weight of the confiscated substance totaled 92.42 grams, underscoring the scale of the illicit operation.                 



Subsequent investigations culminated in the arrest of two other suspects identified as one Tilak Rai from Nongmynsong and a R Gracy Hraveinai from Laipham Siphai of Imphal in Manipur.



Rai was identified as the intended receiver of the contraband, while Hraveinai was allegedly financing the operation.                       



During the arrest, the law enforcement found a sum of INR 1,04,000 in cash, along with three mobile phones.
